FTMO Futures is the futures side of FTMO, with simulated trading on live CME market data. You pick Growth or Pro and a size of $50,000, $100,000 or $150,000, pay a monthly subscription of $119 to $269, and trade an Evaluation with no time limit and no minimum trading days. Passing moves you to a Sim-Funded account of the same size, with payouts split 90/10. FTMO's CFD programs are reviewed separately in the FTMO review.

Growth and Pro share the same profit targets ($3,000, $6,000 and $9,000) and the same end-of-day trailing drawdown mechanism. Growth has no daily loss limit in the Evaluation and allows payout requests of up to 50% of profit. Pro adds a hard daily loss limit, larger drawdowns and requests of up to 100% of profit. Positions are closed by 4:10 p.m. ET each day, on NinjaTrader, Tradovate or TradingView.

Highlights and good to know

Highlights

  • Monthly billing from $119 (Growth, $50,000) to $269 (Pro, $150,000), with no activation fee, no time limit and no minimum trading days in the Evaluation.
  • Growth has no daily loss limit in the Evaluation, so its loss rule is the end-of-day trailing drawdown of $2,000, $3,500 or $5,000.
  • The drawdown trails closing balances rather than intraday highs, and it locks at the starting balance once the calculation reaches it.
  • The Sim-Funded account has no profit target and no consistency rule, and the payout ratio is 90/10 on both products.
  • Pro payout requests can cover up to 100% of profit above the starting balance, with per-request caps of $5,000, $6,000 and $8,000.
  • A breached Evaluation is replaced by a new account on the next billing date, or restarted sooner with a reset of $109 to $259.
  • News trading and automated trading are allowed, and up to three Sim-Funded accounts can be held at once, or $450,000 of simulated capital at the $150,000 size.

Good to know

  • A trading day runs from 6:00 p.m. ET to 4:10 p.m. ET on the following calendar day. Open positions and resting orders still open at 4:10 p.m. ET are liquidated or cancelled, so nothing is carried into the next trading day or over a weekend.
  • In the Evaluation, the best-day cap is 40% of total profit on Growth and 50% on Pro. Exceeding it is not a breach: trading continues until the best day falls within the cap.
  • Pro applies a hard daily loss limit of $1,000, $1,500 or $2,000. A breach fails the Evaluation or terminates the Sim-Funded account. Growth's Sim-Funded limit is soft and pauses trading for the rest of the day.
  • A Live Funded account is offered by invitation after FTMO validates Sim-Funded trading. A one-time buffer is cleared before the first payout, and its amount is not published on the pages checked.
  • Prohibited practices include copying a third party's trades, hedging across accounts, high-frequency strategies, latency arbitrage and opening new positions within 2% of a CME daily price limit.

Growth against Pro on the $100,000 size

At $100,000, Growth costs $169 a month and Pro $199. For the extra $30, Pro raises the maximum drawdown from $3,500 to $4,500, the payout cap from $3,000 to $6,000 and the share of profit you can request from 50% to 100%. Both keep the $6,000 profit target and 10 contracts (100 micros) in the Evaluation.

Growth has no daily loss limit in the Evaluation, and its Sim-Funded limit of $2,000 is soft: if equity touches it, open positions are closed, trading pauses until the next trading day and the account stays open. Pro applies a hard $1,500 limit at both stages.

On the $50,000 size, the Pro profit target of $3,000 equals its $3,000 drawdown, the 1:1 ratio the firm advertises.

How the trailing drawdown moves and where it stops

Each trading day starts with a floor equal to the highest closing balance of any earlier day, or the starting balance if that is higher, minus the drawdown amount. The floor can rise but never fall and is checked against equity (balance plus open P&L, net of fees) at every moment, so intraday highs do not lift it and an open loss can touch it.

Take a $100,000 Growth account with a $3,500 drawdown. Day 1 starts with a floor of $96,500. If Day 1 closes at $102,000, the Day 2 floor is $98,500. A Day 2 close of $101,200 leaves the Day 3 floor at $98,500, because the highest close still counts. A Day 3 close of $104,200 gives $100,700, above the starting balance, so the floor locks at $100,000 from Day 4 with $4,200 of room above it.

The daily loss limit adds a second floor that follows each day's opening balance. A $100,000 Pro account opening a day at $104,500 has a daily floor of $103,000 against a drawdown floor of $100,000, so the daily limit is the closer one.

Passing the Evaluation: target, best-day cap and no clock

The target is $3,000, $6,000 or $9,000, which means closing balances of $53,000, $106,000 and $159,000 with all positions closed, assessed after the end of the trading day. You can run as many Evaluations at once as you like, each on its own monthly subscription.

The consistency rule keeps the best day within 40% of total profit on Growth and 50% on Pro. On a $100,000 account with a best day of $3,000, total profit must reach $7,500 on Growth ($3,000 divided by 0.4) and $6,000 on Pro. If you stop exactly at the $6,000 target, the best day can be $2,400 on Growth and $3,000 on Pro. The Sim-Funded account has no target and no consistency rule.

What a month costs, and what a reset adds

Growth is $119, $169 and $229 a month for the $50,000, $100,000 and $150,000 sizes, and Pro is $139, $199 and $269. An Evaluation that is not breached continues into the next cycle, and a breached one is replaced by a new account on the next billing date.

To restart sooner, a reset costs $109, $159 or $219 on Growth and $129, $189 or $259 on Pro, which is $10 below the monthly fee at every size. A reset does not move the billing date. A month with one reset on a $100,000 Growth account therefore costs $169 plus $159, or $328, and $199 plus $189, or $388, on Pro.

From qualifying days to the 90% payment

Eligibility is a count of days with a minimum end-of-day P&L: 4 days of $150, $250 or $300 on Growth, and 5 days of $200, $300 or $500 on Pro. On $100,000 that is at least $1,000 per payout cycle on Growth (4 x $250) and $1,500 on Pro (5 x $300). The firm lists payouts as every 4 days on Growth and every 5 on Pro.

A request covers up to 50% of profit above the starting balance on Growth and up to 100% on Pro, within the per-request cap ($2,500, $3,000 or $4,000 on Growth; $5,000, $6,000 or $8,000 on Pro) and a $20 minimum. At least 50% of the requested amount must be new profit from the current cycle. You receive 90% of the amount requested.

With $5,000 of profit earned in the cycle on a $100,000 account, Growth allows a $2,500 request paying $2,250, and Pro allows $5,000 paying $4,500. With $9,000 of profit on Pro, the $6,000 cap applies: the payment is $5,400 and $3,000 stays in the account.

Contract steps, the 6:00 p.m. ET day and the move to live

The Evaluation has a fixed limit of 5, 10 or 15 minis, with 10 micros counting as 1 mini. The Sim-Funded account starts at 2, 4 or 6 contracts, and a scaling plan raises the limit as end-of-day profit above the starting balance grows. On $100,000 the steps are 4 contracts up to $999 of profit, 5 from $1,000, 8 from $2,000 and 10 from $3,000. The limit moves up or down on the next trading day, so a close at $102,400 means 8 contracts, and a later close at $100,900 means 4.

A trading day lasts 22 hours 10 minutes, from 6:00 p.m. ET to 4:10 p.m. ET the next calendar day. A trade placed at 7:00 p.m. ET on a Monday belongs to the day that ends at 4:10 p.m. ET on Tuesday, and daily P&L, closing balances and the daily loss limit follow that boundary.

A Live Funded account is offered by invitation once FTMO has validated your Sim-Funded trading. A one-time buffer is cleared before the first payout, after which payouts can be requested daily with no cap at the same 90/10 ratio.

Verdict

FTMO Futures fits a trader who wants a clear monthly price and no profit target or consistency rule once funded. Growth suits someone who prefers no daily loss limit while passing, at $119 to $229 a month. Pro suits someone who wants drawdowns of $3,000 to $6,000 and requests of up to 100% of profit, and works with a hard daily loss limit. Day traders flat by 4:10 p.m. ET match the session rules.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between FTMO Futures Growth and Pro?

Growth costs $119 to $229 a month, has no daily loss limit in the Evaluation, caps the best day at 40% of profit and allows payout requests of up to 50% of profit ($2,500 to $4,000 cap). Pro costs $139 to $269, adds a hard daily loss limit, caps the best day at 50% and allows requests of up to 100% ($5,000 to $8,000 cap).

How does the FTMO Futures drawdown work?

It is an end-of-day trailing limit: each trading day it is set at the highest earlier closing balance minus the drawdown amount ($2,000 to $6,000 by product and size) and checked against equity at all times. It never falls, and it locks at the starting balance once the calculation reaches it.

How much does FTMO Futures cost per month?

Growth costs $119, $169 or $229 a month for the $50,000, $100,000 or $150,000 size, and Pro costs $139, $199 or $269. There is no activation fee, no time limit and no minimum number of trading days. A reset costs $109 to $219 on Growth and $129 to $259 on Pro, and it does not change the billing date.

How do FTMO Futures payouts work?

The Sim-Funded account has no profit target and no consistency rule. After 4 qualifying days on Growth or 5 on Pro, you request a payout up to the per-request cap, with a $20 minimum. At least 50% of the request must be new profit from the current cycle, and you receive 90% of the amount requested.

Can you hold FTMO Futures positions past the end of the trading day or over the weekend?

No. A trading day runs from 6:00 p.m. ET to 4:10 p.m. ET the next calendar day, and positions or resting orders still open at 4:10 p.m. ET are liquidated or cancelled automatically, so nothing is carried into the next trading day or across a weekend. The rule applies at every account stage.

Can you trade news or use automated systems on FTMO Futures?

News trading and automated trading are both allowed. High-frequency strategies, latency arbitrage and copying a third party’s trades are prohibited, and new positions cannot be opened within 2% of a CME daily price limit. Copying across your own accounts is allowed if each account follows every rule on its own.
