How We Review Prop Firms
Prop firm rules change often. One outdated number, like a drawdown limit, a payout condition or a price, can cost a trader an account. This page explains how we collect, check and update the information on PropFirm Experts, and where our limits are.
Where our information comes from
We only use sources published by the firm itself:
- its official pricing and program pages,
- its official help center or FAQ,
- its official terms and conditions.
We don’t copy numbers from other review sites, videos or social media. If a firm doesn’t publish a rule, we say so instead of guessing.
What we check for every firm
- Cost: the price of each account size, and whether it’s a one-time fee or a monthly subscription.
- Risk rules: profit target, daily loss limit and maximum drawdown, including how the drawdown is calculated (static, trailing or end-of-day).
- Conditions: minimum trading days and consistency rules, both during the evaluation and once funded.
- Payouts: profit split, payout frequency, and any activation or data fees.
- Restrictions: news trading, weekend holding, expert advisors and copy trading.
- Setup: trading platforms and available instruments.
- Company: legal entity, headquarters and year founded, when the firm publishes them.
Check dates and screenshots
Every review shows the date its rules were last checked. Where it helps, we add screenshots of the firm’s official pages, dated the day they were taken, so you can see the source yourself.
Discount codes
Some firms give us partner discount codes. We show each code with the discount the firm applies to it. If we could confirm the discount at checkout, we say so. If the firm only reveals it after you log in, we tell you that too. Seasonal promotions change from week to week, so we never present them as permanent.
How firms are ordered
Our “best of” lists compare firms on the rules above: total cost, how strict the drawdown is, payout terms and trading restrictions. A commission never moves a firm up a list, and we don’t sell placements.
What we don’t do
- We don’t publish testimonials we can’t verify.
- We don’t give investment advice. Prop firm challenges are paid products, and many traders don’t pass them. Only buy one if you can afford to lose the fee.
Corrections
Spotted an outdated rule or a mistake? Tell us. We check the firm’s official page, update the review and change its check date.
